1. Who is responsible

Pang Wayne Wee
Heßhofstr. 18
51107 Cologne
Germany
wee@pangwayne.com

2. Visiting this app

When you open the app, your browser sends technical data to my hosting provider Cloudflare: your IP address, date and time, the address requested (for example which stop's departures), the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the app and to protect it from attacks. The photo in the header comes from my website www.pangwayne.com, which Cloudflare also hosts, so the same applies there. Cloudflare also keeps short-lived request logs that help me find errors. If Cloudflare suspects automated access (bots), it may run a short check in your browser and store the result in the cookie cf_clearance.

Legal basis: my legitimate interest in a secure, working app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The bot check and its cookie are strictly necessary for this (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG).

Recipient: Cloudflare, Inc., USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Storage: Cloudflare deletes this data once it is no longer needed for these purposes.

3. No tracking, no consent banner

The app itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. That is why there is no cookie banner.

4. The map

The map images, map fonts and icons are loaded by your browser directly from OpenFreeMap. In doing so, your browser sends your IP address, the map area requested, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system to OpenFreeMap. According to OpenFreeMap, its normal access logs contain no IP addresses and it uses no cookies; error logs may contain your IP address and are deleted after 7 days. Details: OpenFreeMap privacy policy.

Legal basis: my legitimate interest in showing a map without running my own map server (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Recipient: Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary (OpenFreeMap).

5. "Near me" (your location)

Only if you press Near me, your browser asks whether the app may use your location. If you agree, your position is used only on your device to find the closest stops. It is never sent to me or to anyone else. The app then loads the departures of those stops, just as if you had tapped them on the map. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your browser settings.

6. Live departures

Timetables and live departures come from Transitous. My server fetches them on your behalf, so Transitous never receives your IP address or any other data about you.

7. Email

If you email me, I receive your email address and your message. Cloudflare forwards emails sent to my address (see section 2) to my email account at Google (Gmail, Google Ireland Limited, Ireland). Google may transfer data to Google LLC, USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Purpose and legal basis: to answer your message, based on my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Storage: I keep your message only as long as I need it to handle your request, or as long as the law requires.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20). Just email wee@pangwayne.com.

You can also complain to a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for me, the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (poststelle@ldi.nrw.de).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where I process your data based on my legitimate interest (sections 2, 4 and 7), you can object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. I will then stop, unless I can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
